Good piece. much more thoughtful than i would be at this point.
it's not about 8 GOALS IN 9 LEAGUE GAMES BRO! - it's context of how those goals happened and who they happened against.
Parris' ceiling is a known commodity for the national team set up.
Sarina Wiegman being capable of adding context in terms of whom she is performing well against weighed alongside her historical inconsistency in the national team set up with the insane aged 20-23 year olds who are waiting for their chances, it's not complicated, united supporters!
Perfectly explained Rich. I wish everyone had the same understanding. I listened to Sarina's press conference yesterday and it is clear she has considered & spoken to Nikita Parris. At this moment in time where does she rank among England's front players? Probably between 7 & 10 which leaves her on the call up list for competitive games. The media in general either don't know or are ignoring the fact the under 23s are going to Spain as well so, for me, the planning is sound.
On Mead, largely I imagine because her form for England has been superb under Wiegman, particularly at the Euros, and it's clear she's a key part of Wiegman's thinking.
I probably should have added this into the article itself, but I did sort of mention that club form doesn't always transfer to international form, and vice versa.
On Bronze, she's in a position where right now there's little depth. No one has come along yet to show they can take her place or offer more than she does.
Would understand the youth angle if she wasn't still playing the same team as euros.still sees daly as a lb.
The rigid nature is why they was knocked out at groups

Mead and Parris are the same age, yet Parris has outscored Mead....so explain why Mead gets the call up, but not Parris??
If we are building to the future, then why on earth is Bronze getting called up?? She us 32, a good 3 or 4 years older than Parris for example.....
There seems to be a LOT of contradictions going on with Sarina's selections.....
