Women’s Football Chronicles
Women’s Football Chronciles is a site created in February 2023 with the aim of providing quality writing and content from within the women’s game all around the world.
Whether it be in-depth magazine-style features, interviews with those within the sport, deep diving player profiles, or quick analysis, reaction and opinion to the biggest matches, WFC will provide a dedicated home for unique, insightful and in-depth content.
WFC will house content you cannot find elsewhere, but won’t be about breaking news. It will bring a different look at the women’s game, from the eyes of those deep within it, whether it be players, managers or those working behind the scenes, as well as delving into some of the most interesting stories out there, with a focus on clubs, countries and people who don’t always get the mainstream focus.
Substack is community funded, and WFC will only be successful with subscriptions which allows investment back into the content I aim to provide, so if you want to come along for the ride, hit Subscribe below, and get a paid subscription to access all my premium content.
The Creator
I’ve covered women’s football for just over 10 years, starting covering Leeds United Ladies when I was a university student. From there, my first genuine women’s football job was to cover the relaunch of Manchester City Women in 2014.
In 2016, I became a writer in the Women’s Super League and have gone on to cover FA Cup, Champions League, European Championship and World Cup finals, as well as five major international tournaments from within the country itself, most recently the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
I have worked on big one-off projects for the likes of The Guardian, creating the annual Top 100 Female Footballers of the Year, Four Four Two, The Athletic, Bleacher Report, World Soccer Magazine, OPTUS Sport, When Saturday Comes, The Blizzard, and more, covering the women’s game around the world, and found the niche of feature-length long-form writing to offer a different perspective on the women’s game.
My aim is to continue that here in a new, dedicated home for content and use my contacts, knowledge and experience to bring new insight to the women’s football audience around the world, focused purely on the football.
